The lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District in the Upper Chamber, Distinguished Senator AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari PhD, has thrown encomium on teachers and eulogized them for their assiduous efforts in nation building.
According to the recently ranked fifth (5th) senator in Nigeria by Bills Progression Productivity Index by OrderPaperToday, and as released through his media office, the workaholic legislator said, ” Today, I celebrate our hardworking and brilliant teachers who are the nation builders and cornerstone of our country.
The role teachers play in the development of any society can not be underestimated. Aside producing quality workforce for the country, if well motivated, teachers can solve any challenges we are faced as a country. It has been firmly established that most of the vices in the society are carried out by young people, most of who are of the school going age. Character formation is done at school and by the teachers. A teacher plays a huge role in instilling good characters that help in curbing of social vices”.
The 2023 Oyo State Governorship Hopeful under the All Progressives Congress (APC) party, believes teachers ,if well motivated, will boost their morales for effectiveness and efficiency in the discharge of their duties.
” I hereby call for immediate upward review of teachers’ emoluments by government at all levels so as to better their lives and encourage them in the discharge of their duties. Motivated teachers are assets to the country. I wish all teachers many happy celebrations”, the limit breaking senator posited.
Teacher’s Day Celebration is globally observed with varying dates across the nations of the world to appreciate their services in the development of the students towards making the society a better place.
The theme of the World Teachers’ Day 2021 is ‘Teachers at the heart of education recovery’.
