The Head Coach if the Pharaoh’s of Egypt, Carlos Queiroz, has commended the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their victory over his side. He describedbthe 1:0 as well deserved.
“It was clear in the first half, we had a bad first half. Our opponent dictated the game, they deserve to take the lead in the first half. Second half, we created chances. We had a clean penalty and the referee didn’t award it. The situation of the penalty is not an excuse for our defeat. It was not our day and also for the referees. It was a penalty and it was impossible for VAR not to check it.
Nigeria deserve their win, we will recover and be ready for the next two games. We respect Nigeria a lot, we didn’t play well in the first half. In the second half, we dominated. We lost the ball very quick, we lost cohesion, but in the second half after the first half conversation, we played and control the game”.
