What We Contribute (The Increasing Rates Of Killings For Money Rituals).
The rate of killings for money rituals have been on the increase and if this social vices is not checked, the future is blink for our children and society at large.
Very pathetic is the quest by youngsters , in their late tens, to becoming instant billionaires.
What we contribute to this deadly and dangerous happenings are numerous.
1. Awon kan w’aye wa s’ise, awon kan w’aye wa j’aye. Yahooze, yahooze. Yahooze, yahooze…
2. Ki’n sha ti l’owo. Ole l’o b’omo je. Ki’n sha ti l’owo. Wire, wire… money, money… Ki’n sha ti l’owo. Ole l’o b’omo je. Ki’n sha ti l’owo.
3. Zaazu zeh…On my wa to ilu awon osu, nibi ti won ti’n bo cardi. Ko kan lo pade kolu, laptop ni mo fin gawu…Zaazu zeh… (Some of you can’t decode what those silly guys were singing, right?)
These are some of the songs eulogising, glorifying, encouraging people to commit crimes, such as ritual killings and internet fraud.
The entertainment industry, especially Nollywood, is there, influencing our society in the most negative ways. Musicians and artists are in no way exonerated. Skit makers are subtly influencing our children negatively.
Politicians, as well, are contributing theirs. Those cars and wealth Dino Melaye flaunts and flashes are another source of inspiration for crimes.
Churches, mosques and our traditional rulers accord undue respect and honour to moneybags in our society.
Some pastors and imams pray for some of these criminals in our worship centres. We have them around: Alhaji and Alhaja oni rituals, High Chief, Chief ati Evangelists elebo and oloogun.
After making huge donations, your pastors and alfas give them chieftaincy titles (Baba Ijo Ona Iwa Mimo Cathedral, Baba Adinni of Olohunsogo Mosque, Fiwajoye of Kalahari Kingdom).
Don’t pretend you don’t know them. You know them. Yes, you know them. Some of you praise them on social media. You give them nice nicknames.
Our children have been negatively influenced. They are fast becoming criminals, fraudsters and ritualists.
All of us come together to reform our society. If we don’t make efforts towards correcting these anomalies, I see disaster in future.
