Bunvic Splashes OgoOluwa Surulere Federal Constituents With Items Worth Millions Of Naira

The Chairman ,House of Representatives Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values and member representing OgoOluwa/Surulere federal constituency ,Oyo state. Hon. Olusegun Odebunmi (Bunvic), ended the year 2022 with a mouth watering empowerment programme to empower over a 1000 beneficiaries carefully selected from the twenty (20) wards that make up his constituency, premiumnewsnig.com reports.

The event which was held at Yiron Civic Hall, Orogun area, along Iresaadu on Saturday 31st December, 2022 was massively attended by party leaders, stakeholders, party members and general members of the public.

Among the items distributed to the beneficiaries included sewing machines, deep freezers, grass cutting machines, grinding machines, hair drying machines, clippers, and generators.

According to the performing lawmaker, ” there is a need to support people with other skills apart from government jobs and the National Assembly would soon work on a bill that would make it compulsory for students to acquire a vocation skill before leaving secondary school” .

“The acquired skills would help them to earn an income before graduating from higher institutions and would no more need to wait for white-collar jobs. The empowerment materials being given to the beneficiaries would reduce the stress they were currently experiencing”.

The legislator, who doubles as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives seat in the forthcoming elections, used the occasion to intimate the people of his representative achievements in the last three years as a member of the 9th assembly ranging from rural electrification,capital projects,community development, oversight and also his engagement on the floor of the green chamber.

He said that many rural communities, through his efforts in the constituency, had also been connected to the national grid.

According to him, this will give the beneficiaries the privilege to use the deep freezers and other empowerment materials given to them to earn an income.

“Many have learnt one skill or another, but they don’t have the money to buy some of the empowerment equipment given to them today to work.”

We care for them because they put us there, and we should be able to come to their aids when they need us, and that is exactly what I am doing,” Odebunmi said.

He, therefore, called on his constituents to vote for him and other APC candidates in the forthcoming 2023 general elections so that they could continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

In his remarks, a chieftain of APC in the state, Sen. Brimoh Yusuf, called on the people of the state to vote massively for all candidates of the party during the 2023 general elections.
