The rift between Governor Seyi Makinde and the aggrieved members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) took another petty dimension as a Chieftain of the party and strong front of the core PDP, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoenia’s Son, Abubakre Adeyemi, was sacked on the order of the governor .
The said player, a defensive and very skillful player was one of the players who contributed immensely in getting the promoted to the Nigerian Premier League (NPFL) in the just concluded 2020/2021 Nigerian National League (NNL).
Abubakre Adeyemi who was shocked for seeing his named removed from the 3sc watsapp group, a wrong signal, called an official of the team , Coach Yinka Baboni, to explain the ugly incidence only to be told that the order was from above.
The players father, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoenia, when contacted said he will keep the issue to his chest, at least for now. He further said that no soothsayer was needed to be told that the sack of Adeyemi was connected to the unending crisis rocking the Oyo State chapter of the PDP.
According to another Chieftain of the PDP, Ismaila Ashipa and as reported on his Facebook page, over the sad incidence, he referred to the Oyo State Governor as General Silly Mistake.
Quoting Ismaila Ashipa,
” One of the skillful footballers who got the 3SC promoted to the Premier Division recently, Mr Abubakre Adeyemi, defensive midfielder has been sacked by the order of His Excellency, Egnr Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State.
News reaching our desk revealed that, His Excellency, who is on official tour to Paris, France, gave the sack order immediately the sad news of the Ibadan North East PDP Congress, where a Chieftain of the Oyo state PDP and one of the leaders of the aggreived, rubbished and floored the GSM clappers, got to him”.
He further said, ” The young prolific footballer, Mr Abubakre Adeyemi, is the son of Chief Alh Adebisi Olopoeyan. Couldn’t just understand why the successful future of a young ambitious man would be terminated for political aggrandizement.
