Education, which is supposed to be free , at least at the basics, as it was in those days, is the best legacy and most precious gift that is supposed to be given to the children.
But sadly, education has become very expensive leading yo most brilliant youngsters dropping out of school.
This has lead to increase in social vices, such as smoking and drinking of hard drugs, rapping,robbery, banditry, kidnapping, premature sexual activities, early pregnancy, delinquencies, crime, violence, alcohol and drug abuse and suicide, amongst others.
Again, most students severely limit their chances of economic and social well-being in the future as a result of not being able to further their educational pursuits becauss of the cost.
In other to curb this manice and provide his people the necessary platforms for educational advancement, Hon Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala, as part of his campaign promises in education, rolled out Free JAMB Forms Registration for 300 students, carefully selected across the 3 Local Governments which he represents.
This is also part of his educational support of providing grants, assistance, tuition and scholarship opportunities for his constituents and the larger society.
Akano Damilola , a beneficiary of the Free JAMB Form by Hon Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala, a very brilliant student who sat and successfully passed his Senior Secondary Certificate Examination in 2019 at Excel Comprehensive High School , Ogbomoso, had this to say ;
” I graduated from Excel Comprehensive High School in 2019 and passed all my subjects. I have been trying since then to purchase the form but no means until I heard of this gesture of Free JAMB Forms Registration by Hon Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala. He took care of all the processes for me and others. I am happy I have registered and I am sure I will pass”, he submitted.
Akano Damilola further spoke on how he intends to further his education after the successful outing of the examination by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and how he felt about the education support initiative by Hon Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala.
” I have been planning and working ahead. Most importantly, I believe the Lord who gave me this free JAMB Form is still alive. I plead to Hon El Em Jay OjuOloore to continue with this initiative. There are so many people still out there looking for this opportunity. I pray that he will continue to succeed in his endeavors”.
In other to making the process simple and stress free, the 300 beneficiaries assembled at the Constituency Office of Hon Alao Akala at Destiny House, Sekoni junction, Ogbomoso to meet with accredited agent and his team led by Mr Stephen Alabi to generate profile code before payments were made to the examination body.
Thereafter, the beneficiaries are conveyed in coaster buses provided by the lawmaker to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, for thump printing, which is the final process.
His legislative aides from the 3 constituencies, Hon Adeleke Tayo, Hon Adesina Femi and Hon Idowu Olupo and some members of his OjuOloore Political Group were in attendance to ensure smooth running of the process.
The Chairman, House Committee On Youths In Parliament, began the registration of 300 students carefully selected from his constituency on 5th February, 2024 and it is expected to end on the 14th February, 2024.
