APC CONGRESS : Ogbomoso To Produce Senatorial Chairman
Ahead of the forthcoming state congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday 16th October, 2021, the leaders of the APC in the state met today Wednesday 12th October, 2021 and agreed on new zoning formular.
This is coming after the initial zoning arrangement was opposed by certain leaders of the party and Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala, the Caretaker Chairman, Chief Akin Oke and seven (7) other leaders were mandated on Monday 11th October, 2021 and given two (2) days ultimatum,
to work out new zoning formula that will capture the interest of all zones towards having a formidable team that will reclaim Oyo State to the progressives fold.
The leaders resolved after hours of deliberation that , Ogbomoso zones should produce the Senatorial Chairman, State Youth Leader, State Financial Secretary, State Assistant Auditor, Senatorial Women Leader and Ex Officio.
Oke-Ogun 1 is to produce State Chairman of the party, Senatorial Youth Leader, Assistant Financial Secretary and Assistant Welfare Officer while Oke-Ogun 2 will produce the State Organizing Secretary, State Legal Adviser, Deputy Youth Leader (North), Senatorial Women Leader, Deputy State Women Leader and ex Officio.
The State Secretary, State Auditor, Assistant Organising Secretary and Assistant State Public Relations Officer was zoned to Oyo while the positions of the Deputy State Chairman, State Welfare Officer, Senatorial Youth Leader (South) and Assistant Treasurer went to Ibarapa Zone.
All the leaders signed the new template that will produce the new state executives of the party on October 16th 2021 and also resolved that all elective positions especially governor, deputy governor and Senators in 2023 are open to all the thirty three (33) local government areas of the state.
Among the leaders who attended the meeting at the Awosika residence of Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala include, the State Caretaker Chairman of the party, Chief Akin Oke; former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Alake; Chief Samuel Adegbiji Adekola, C.A Ajibade, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi, B.A Ajibade; minority leader of Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Alarape; Chief Kunle Sanda, Chief Timothy Alarape Jolaoso and Mogaji Banji Olorode
