APC Reconciliation Committee Moves To Reconcile Aggrieved Members In Ogbomoso
The train of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Reconciliation Committee headed by Senator Oluremi Lanleyin were in Ogbomoso in their onerous task of reconciling aggrieved party members in the five (5) local governments back into the APC to further strengthen the party.
The event which took place at the Ogbomoso Parapo Hall, Apake Area witnessed party stakeholders, elders and representatives, in some cases, from all the zones in Ogbomoso.
Earlier, the Chairman of the committee, Senator Olufemi Lanleyin, appreciated the members of the party for attending the meeting and promised that the committee will do all things possible to justify the essence of their formation for victorious outings in the forthcoming elections.
Honourable Adedeji Abiodun Adeyemo fondly called Obadoba, urged the committee members to use all available avenues to address situations whereby some APC political appointees at the Federal level will be using the monies accrued to them through the party to fight against the party.
He equally made an instance of Hon Agbarapo who was the Chairman of the reconciliation committee set up by late the Late Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi but who later defected to another party, in the process of reconciling aggrieved members, thereby jeopardizing the whole reconciliation process.
” Everybody is important and those annoyed are worth being annoyed but we should be the one to ensure we embrace them. I urge the leaders of the party in the zone to still meet and fashion ways of bringing back those aggrieved”, Obadoba posited.
Hon Wumi Oladeji, the APC Flagbearer for Ogbomoso North State Constituency was full of prayers for the party leaders and stakeholders for holding forth since the demise of His Excellency, Late Otunba Dr Christopher Adebayo Alao. She wished the committee success and prayed for outstanding outing for the APC in the general elections.
Hon Tunde Yahya from Ogo Oluwa local government, pleaded that the leaders of the party should call Hon Zachius Adelabu who still holds the APC appointment at the Federal level but who has not been participating in the party activities in his local government. He was equally alleged of sponsoring his younger brother,Sayo, to Accord Party and using the monies of APC accrued to him to fight against the party.
In a similar reaction, Hon Tunde Oloyede, the Senatorial Chairman, Oyo North Senatorial District, pleaded to the reconciliation committee to call on the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Hon Sunday Dare to desist from any moves that will further disunite the party.
In his words, we have a Minister who has never contributed to the success of the party in Ogbomoso North Local Government. Ever since he was sworn in as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, unlike others, he has not given the party a dim for smooth running of the party Instead he is using the money he is getting from the party to cause disunity in the party.
As alleged by Hon Tope Alamu on the issue of Oyo State Youth leadership tussle, Hon Oloyede said the Minister was given the Oyo State Youth Leader slot just to honour his position and not that the party did not have more competent persons to present.
He further stressed that It is a pity that the same Minister whose petition by the five (5) local governments in Ogbomoso zone was stepped down by the late Adebayo Alao Akala is still being unpatriotic to the party and still in Abuja fighting for the replacement of Ogbomoso North State Constituency slot.
” Help us tell Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the activities of some of his boys that are likely to cause serious havoc for the party in the forthcoming elections”, Hon Oloyede pleaded.
The former Commissioner for Agriculture in Oyo State and three terms Chairman of Ogbomoso South local government, Hon Remi Odetomi, lauded the initiative of the party leadership and prayed for the success of the committee.
” The elders and leaders of the party should imbibe the habit of talking to people in the form of pacification and not in a way that will make people feel like a nobody. This caused the party loss in 2003 and 2019, even though those who left for the conservative only ensured the progressives lost but they also never gained anything. It was a marriage of inconvenience. The reconciliation should be genuine . The debt of the state is alarming. The state is in comatose. Let’s set aside selfishness and work together to take the state back. I will remain in the progressives forever”, the former deputy governor candidate of the All Nigeria People’s Party in Oyo State stressed.
The State Secretary of the party, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite, reiterated his belief in the success of the Senator Lanleyin led reconciliation committee. He appreciated the committee, thanked all those in attendance and showered encomium on Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin and Hon Isaac Omodewu for their tireless efforts in making the party more stronger and united.

Also present at the meeting aside the 22-Man Reconciliation Committee were, the party Chairmen of the five (5) local governments in Ogbomoso zone and their secretaries, some contestants in the recently concluded APC Primary elections, stakeholders from each of the local governments in Ogbomoso zone and other party loyalists.
Senator Olufemi Lanleyin promised to work with all necessary machineries, sincerely and genuinely, to ensure all matters raised are looked into.
