APC STATE CONGRESS : Stakeholders Resolve To Remain United And Formidable

As the state congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) draws nearer, Otunba Dr Christopher Adebayo Alao, Chief Akin Oke and seven (7) others have been mandated, within two days, to make available a final document that will take care of all interests for a successful outing.

The stakeholders reached the decision of going to the congress on Saturday 16th October, 2021 in unity and as formidable team stating that this is the best way to make the party more stronger in other to reclaim Oyo State to the Progressives fold in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

While welcoming the attendees, the APC Caretaker Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, appreciated the stakeholders for the maturity and supports for the progress of the party. He also implored all party faithfuls to place the interest of the party above the individual interests.

According to him, “On behalf of myself and other members of the State Caretaker Committee of Oyo APC, I use this opportunity to thank all of you for being there for us at all times. As we plan to conduct another State Congress this Saturday, I urge you all to be more resolute in embarking on only activities capable of helping our progressive party to reclaim power in 2023.”

Thereafter, Chief Akin Oke read out the drafted document that spelt out the zoning arrangement of the would-be new set of State Executive Committee Members of the party, which he said was equitably and fairly distributed in accordance with all the local governments in the state.

In reaction to Baba Akin Oke’s message, Oloye Sarafadeen Alli and Senator Ayo Adeseun supported the arrangement while Hon Abiodun Adigun Hammed and Chief Kazeem Raji opposed it.

Their argument was that the new document did not have the inputs of the Elders Advisory Council and the members of the State Working Committee of the party.

Mrs Olawumi Ogunesan, the former Oyo State Head of Service, to pave way for progressive, suggested that certain zonal party leaders should meet Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala so as to resolve the issues amicably.

Sarafadeen Alli, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Prof. Adeolu Akande, Chief Timothy Jolaoso, Chief Samuel Adekola, Alhaji Bashiru Ajibade, Chief Abu Gbadamosi, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape, Dr. Azeez Adeduntan, Barr. Akeem Agbaje, Engr. Idris Adeoye, Mr. Bimbo Kolade and Mr. Asimiyu Olaniyi.
