BAF : Oke Ogun, Ogbomoso Walking Goldmine

He is a green jade. He rarely seeks, but his assistance is sought on a daily basis and with a jet speed, he attends to each inquisition without raising an eyebrow. The font of his happiness is when he is being called to serve people of his senatorial districts.

He discharges his duty of law-making with clinical efficiency. As he always says “That’s my primary duty of being here.” He is a Senator who as Roosevelt says should answer “not guilty” when the Upper Chambers is making a roll call.

What makes him incomparable is his love for his people, passion for the job and his years of experience.

According to Bob Hartley, a Canadian coach and author “You can’t go to a pharmacy to buy a pack of experience, you have to be in those games in other to acquire that experience”.

Senator BAF as he is fondly called in Oyo Noth Senatorial District, which he proudly serves, has no time for the lowborns. He is focused and doesn’t tolerate distractions.

But when tolerance crosses its limits, intolerance becomes a drama.

His mouth was pierced opened by a journalist recently who asked his views on “Oke-Ogun lọ́kàn” mantra. He replied “I want you and other people present here to be the judges, I talk about issues not people, but they want, to force me to talk, can anyone who has refused to put Oke-Ogun people at the tips of his mind claim to be more Oke-Ogun than me ?

The rhetorical question made everyone to be fully attentive. Senator BAF added, “I will halt my campaign, relinquish my ambition and gleefully embrace his, if he can provide a single employment letter of his staffers to have come from Oke-Ogun or even his constituencies.

We are given opportunity to present five legislative staff to work with, whilst I consulted broadly with Oke-Ogun people to choose mine, he chose his from Lagos, Kogi, Benin and the only one from Oyo State is from Oyo Town.”

When a senator or a member of the House priorities the exigent needs of his or her people, as BAF says, “the person has become a goldmine whom people will be running after . Here again, Senator BAF casts my mind back to Theodore Roosevelt who says, “Government is ourselves and not an alien power over us . The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a president and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters.”

If truly the silent voters of Oyo North will pick their best in the walk up to Senate 2023 election , I will tell BAF not to belabour himself, his works, experience, Camaraderie etc have loudly spoken for.

For Oyo North 2023 tested and trusted Senator, BAF unquestionably is the answer. On this , I have no iota of doubt.
