‘ I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of the tragic road accident that occurred along the Oyo-Ogbomoso highway yesterday, resulting in the loss of lives and properties.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a profound reminder of the pressing need for enhanced safety measures on our roads, especially on the highways.

I have made concerted efforts towards the urgent rehabilitation of the Oyo-Ogbomoso highway. Just two weeks ago, I wrote a letter to the Honorable Minister for Works, Engr. David Umahi appealing that the Honorable Minister includes the rehabilitation of this road, alongside other roads along Oyo-Ogbomoso highway that require emergent attention in the 2024 projects.

By constantly thinking of ways to better serve my Constituents and Nigerians at large, I have also moved a Motion and presented a Bill on the provision of First Responder Services to the victims of road accidents on our Federal Highways, in hopes that this will provide first aid services to accident victims and improve their chances of survival”.

He concluded by praying to God to uphold the families of the deceased in this grief moments and also pleaded on relevant authorities to implement preventive to prevent future occurrence.

“As we mourn the lives lost in this tragedy, I urge relevant authorities to conduct comprehensive investigation into the cause of the accident and to implement preventive measures to avert such unfortunate occurrences in the future”.
