Lack of Proper Monitoring of Projects: Waste Of Resource.

Huge financial scarce resources of the Federal Government on impactful projects have gone down the drain because of lack of supervision, inadequate supervision and the use of substandard materials by some unpatriotic and inhumane contractors handling the projects.
These projects are sadly spread across the length and breadth of this country. Most state governments are not left out in this mess.
In our localities, many federal governments drilled boreholes, after few months of completion , are not working again, thereby putting the people into untold hardship, most especially during the dry season.
Newly constructed roads do not last up to two years before getting pot holes while building worth billions of naira does not last a year because of the unprofessional attitudes of the handlers and lack of proper supervision on the part of the government.
To some government supervisors, in as much as their pocket is full with cash, they are less concerned about the quality of job done, not to talk of the desired impacts that particular project is designed to have on the people.
It takes responsible and responsive leadership styles by leaders who believe in leaving evergreen legacies to engage in supervisory roles towards ensuring projects are done and handled as being specified in the contract papers.
Distinguished Senator Dr AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari, the legislator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, is a lawmaker who handles his legislative duties with utmost sincerity and dedication.
One of the three (3) major responsibilities of legislators is oversight functions, which he has always performed above expectations.
In the early month of November 2021, the workaholic Senator facilitated some medical centres to Oyo North Senatorial District, which he represents.
To make sure that all the ongoing projects, which he facilitated to the district conform with the required specifications, Distinguished Senator Dr AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari, not minding the distance among these towns, painstakingly, toured round the various local goverments in Oyo north senatorial district to inspect the ongoing projects.
The projects are : the construction of twenty (20) bed space maternity hospital at Ofiki in Atisbo and the construction of forty (40) bed space hospital at Ago Are in Atisbo local governments.
Others are the construction of forty (40) bed space hospital at Okeho in Kajola, construction of twenty (20) bed space maternity hospital at Ogbooro in Saki East and the construction of twenty (20) bed space maternity hospital at Ahoro Dada village in Oriire local governments in Oyo State.
It is of no doubt that the frequent visit of the Senator to these areas will put the handlers of the projects on their toes to do the needful as specified in the contract papers.
If all projects were and are well supervised , the frequently occuring building collapse will be eradicated, human friendly projects will serve its intended purposes of easing the suffering of our teeming population and more localities would have benefited from these gestures .
