Unlike advanced and enviable countries of the world where most of African leaders invest their future, any nation without sound working systems ( education, health, economy, infrastructure, power, agriculture, local governments and states administration, to mention but a few) with proper implementation strategies will no doubt put her people in untold hardship with no hope of a better tomorrow – one of the major problems facing developing nations, Nigeria inclusive.
It is worthy to note that having sound systems with human friendly implementation strategies will never come by luck but will only be achievable through the choices we choose to make during our electioneering periods.
And until we chose sound, competent, innovative, digitally exposed and capable executive and legislative representatives at the various levels of governance and with the zeal to deliver good governance to the people, the story might remain unchanged til kingdom come.
How well have legislators been representing their various constituencies at the local government, state and federal levels in their primary assignments ?
This piece will dwell more on the law making ( presenting bills and moving motions) activities, the primary functions of legislators, a case study of Hon Olamijuwonlo Ayodeji Alao Akala.
A quick but little searchlights into the primary functions and activities of Hon Olamijuwonlo Ayodeji Alao Akala, the legislator representing Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency have proven that his constituents made the right choice by voting him to be their representative in the Nigerian House Of Representatives in the 10th Assembly, considering the number of bills and motions he has to his credit within this very short period.
Inaugurated into the Green Chamber on 13th June, 2023 and appointed the Vice Chairman, Adhoc Committee On Internal Security, Hon Olamijuwonlo Ayodeji Alao Akala moved his first motion on the Floor of the House on the 25th July, 2023, titled, “Urgent Call For The Provision
Of First Responder Services To Victims Of Road Accidents.
On the 16th of November, 2023, the vibrant, relentless, innovative, compassionate and young Hon Olamijuwonlo Ayodeji Alao Akala had his two bills on ” National Price Control Commission” and” An Act To Amen The Companies And Allied Matters Act” passed through first reading on the floor of the Honourable Members of the Nigerian House Of Representatives.
Between August 7th and 14th, 2023, a whole week, as part of his primary functions as a lawmaker, the legislator alongside his Honorable colleagues, embarked on legislative oversight of the higher institutions in South West on the alleged misappropriation of TETFUND.
The workaholic OjuOloore exponent with the zeal to being a very impactful lawmaker to his constituents and nation at large on August 26th and September 11th, 2023 respectively, delivered a keynote lecture at the 2023 International Youth Day celebration organized by the Nigeria Youth Parliament and also led the House of Representatives delegation to the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians held in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The must succeed mindset and the zeal to gain more knowledge will not allow him to rest as he joined the National Assembly delegation at the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentarian Union (IPU) in Luanda, Angola on 25th October, 2024 where he made sound and very commendable presentations on the various issues raised.
Within a period of eight months, Hon Olamijuwonlo Ayodeji Alao Akala, the Chairman, House Committee On Youths In Parliament, fondly called El Em Jay OjuOloore by his teeming supporters, has a total seven (7) impactful bills and three (3) motions to his credit ;

2. .Bill of the Provision of Medical Attention To Critical Conditions (Accidents And Gun Shots)
3.. Bill on an Act to Amend The Companies And Allied Masters Act.
4. Bill for an Act to Amend the Armed Forces Act, 1994 , seeks to Amend the Armed Forces Act Cap A20, Laws of federation of Nigeria 2004 to include Junior in the composition of the Nigeria Army Coumcil, Nigeria Navy Board and Nigeria Air Council.
