The legislator representing Oyo North Senatorial District in the Red Chamber , Distinguished Senator Buhari AbdulFatai today Wednesday 25th October,2023 on the floor of the Nigerian Senate called on various agencies of government saddled with the responsibility of fighting cybercrime to maximize their potentials to fight the menace of cybercrime in our society.
While contributing to a Bill for an act to amend the Cybercrime Act 2015 sponsored by Senator Buba Umar Shehu from Bauch South, Senator Buhari who chaired ICT and Cybercrime Committee in the 8th Senate explained that NITDA, Galaxy Backbone and Nigeria Communication Commission have more than enough equipment to fight the scourge but what is lacking is the political will to do so.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Aviation and Aerospace Development again called on the government to upgrade Ibadan, Ilorin and Maiduguri airports to an International Standard.
He said this in his contribution to a motion on the need to upgrade Muhammadu Buhari International airport to Internationally Operated Airports.
The lawmaker, however, called on state Governors to support Federal Government on Aviation industry for the betterment of Nigerians.
