MY BILL ON UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE AND TECH, OKE-OGUN, AIMED TO DEVELOP THE REGION—— SENATOR BUHARI
…Urges parties’ supporters to shun violence.
Senator Buhari AbdulFatai has explained that the Bill for an Act to establish Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Oke-Ogun sponsored by him at the Senate was aimed to develop the region and provide jobs for the teeming youths.
He stated this yesterday in Saki while participating in a debate organized by an online Television, ORE TV for all senatorial candidates of political parties in Oyo North Senatorial District.
Senator Buhari explained that out of eight (8) processes required for a bill to become a law, he has completed seven (7) and urged the audience and good people of Oyo North to pray for him so that the President can assent the bill which is the last stage to make the University a reality.
While responding to questions posed to him by audience, the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) debunked the rumour that the yet to be approved University has been sited in a particular town.
He therefore satisfactorily explained the rationale for puting Oke-Ogun instead of a particular town.
“Mr Moderator, we are here to discuss issues not trivialities, so that our people that are watching us can get clarifications and be enlightened. Just help me pray so that the President can sign it, after that all stakeholders from Oke-Ogun can now sit down and decide where to sitt it. We use the name of the entire (10) Ten Local Governments to make case and argue it on the Senate floor, so my major concern now is how to get it actualized and not where to site it”, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial District Candidate in Oyo North in the forthcoming 2023 elections stated.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Land Transport further explained that on Education, he has done a lot to improve the sector. He stated that he has provided 65 ICT/CBT Centres in Oyo North Senatorial District. He cited an example of a 13-yead old student named Fatima in Iwajowa Local Government who was frightened for seeing computer for the first time as a peculiar case for backwardness in education in Oke-Ogun.
Senator BAF later urged the supporters of all political parties to avoid fighting because of candidates as all of them are contesting for the betterment of Oyo North Senatorial District. He concluded that though all of them are out contesting, God has already destined who will be voted in 2023 election as a Senator to represent Oyo North Senatorial District.
The debate was attended by APC candidate, Senator Buhari AbdulFatai and Accord Party candidate, Hon Shina Peller. Others are Labour Party candidate, Hon. Abiodun Oladele, New Nigeria Political Party (NNPP), Alhaji Ahmed Shuaib and Dr Mrs Adebimpe Adesokan Taiwo of Unique Party of Nigeria.
