N300bn Loan: Oyo APC Stages Protest Over Alleged Victimisation of Saki West Lawmaker, Ibraheem Shittu
The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday staged a peaceful protest in Ibadan over what it described as the alleged victimisation of Hon. Ibraheem Shittu, the lawmaker representing Saki West State Constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly.
The protest, which commenced in the early hours of the day, took place at the APC Secretariat in Oke Ado, Ibadan. Party members and supporters gathered to register their displeasure, holding placards and chanting solidarity songs in defence of Hon. Shittu.

According to the protesters, the lawmaker has been unfairly targeted following his dissenting stance on the controversial ₦300 billion loan recently approved by the state government. They argued that his position was in the interest of the people of Saki West and the entire state, stressing that silencing opposition voices undermines democracy.
Leaders of the APC in the state reiterated their commitment to protecting their members from intimidation, while calling on the government to uphold democratic values by ensuring fairness and justice.
The peaceful protest, which drew attention across Ibadan, ended with a strong message: the party will continue to resist all forms of political victimisation.
