54 YEARS APART
14th January,1971, Governor Adeyinka Adebayo, the then Governor of Western Region, presented the Staff of Office to the Late, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi,111 as The Alaafin of Oyo.
54 years after, Governor Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, replicated the same gesture to Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade as the Alaafin of Oyo.
As we remember, the late Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi,111, who until his death a living embodiment of the cherished cultural heritage of Yoruba kingdoms, repository of our valued heirlooms, reservoir of knowledge and wisdom.
May Almighty Allah bestow all these attributes and many more on His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, the Alaafin of Oyo
May the soul of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi,111, ” Atanda Omo Ibironke, Egun sonso tii paari Ike” rest in peace.
