Local governments are the closest to the grassroot so developing these sectors is very crucial to the growth and development of our nation.
There have been many appreciable development in this domain right from the inception of democracy in Nigeria until recently when the state government refused to grant these councils autonomy, even after President Muhammadu Buhari made pronouncement in this regard.
Comparatively, development in the local governments, not Ogbomoso South alone, but the entire local governments in Oyo State, have been stagnant with nothing to show for it which has had negative impact on the people.
The recent appointments of Special Advisers, Supervisory Councillors, etc are mere waste of scare resources and a means to satisfying his political allies.
What supervisory role will a Supervisory Councilor perform in a malfunctioning and non existing sector ?
It is hoped that the Engineer Seyi Makinde led People’s Democratic Party in Oyo State will buckle up to do the needful in this regard, as his tenure gets to an end.
