Olamijuwon Alao Akala Gives Scholarship To Oyo State Representative At The National Olympia Mathematics Competition
The former Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, Honourable Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala has compensated Oladunni Success Eniayo of Bowen Teaching Hospital Staff School, Ogbomoso in Oyo State with a scholarship for making the state proud at this just concluded National Olympia Mathematics Competition which took place in Kano State.
Success, as his name implies, took first positions at the local, zonal and state levels to represent Oyo State at the Annual Mathematics Competition in Kano State, where the competition took two phases, written and quiz.
Eniayo took the second position in the written aspect while in quiz, he emerged as the overall best to clinche the first position.
Sadly, in appreciating the young lad and encouraging his generation to attach more importance to education, Oyo State Government through the ministry of education presented a school bag to Success, who had earlier been presented with a better and bigger school bag by his school and a plague.
This caught the attention of Hon Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala, popularly called LMJ OjuOloore, who after few hours of reading the news on Free World TV, compensated the young boy with a full scholarship to trigger him in doing more exploits.
The Ogbomoso North/South/ Oriire Federal Constituency hopeful in the 2023 elections said, “education is the best legacy we can give our children and the best ways to encourage our young ones to take education more seriously is to reward them handsomely for making exploits in that sector. The very sound education I had is one of the reasons I find myself where I am today. Education is a must and it must be considered with all seriousness.Success Eniayo is a pride of Ogbomoso and Oyo State and I think he deserves better compensation. Private individuals and organisations should not be left out in this regard because it is more better to invest in things like this than to be sponsoring programmes that encourage and promote social vices where winners usually went home with mouth watering prizes”.
LMJ, OjuOloore used that medium to appreciate the teachers for a job wonderful done in fishing out such future talents in Ogbomoso.
It is disheartening that in this digital age that we find ourselves,
socially degrading programmes are attached more importance to, than education that fosters growth, development and capacity.
The youths need to be encouraged that education is the key and brilliancy and diligence are much needed factors to the attainment of greater heights in our society.
It is high time the timbers and irokos in the society, as well as the local, state and federal governments did the acceptable needful to bring the desired change in the education sector for national development.
