Olubadan’s Demise: Senator Buhari Condoles With Family
Distinguished Senator Dr AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial District in the Upper Chamber, has sent his condolences to the family and good people of Oyo State on the demise of Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso II, Olubadan of Ibadanland who joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday 2nd January, 2022, at the age of ninety three (93).
The lawmaker described the late monarch as a strategist who spent his years on the throne claiming for peace, growth and development of Ibadan and Oyo State at large.
His heart touching condolence message reads thus ;
” I condole with the immediate family of Oba Adetunji, the chiefs and generality of people of Ibadanland over the demise of Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso II, Olubadan of Ibadanland who joined his ancestors in the early hours of today.
Oba Adetunji was a strategist who successfully used wisdom and outstanding intelligence to sustain the cultural and traditional institution of Olubadan throne during his reign, he was a pragmatic royal father not only to people of Ibadanland but the entire Oyo State.
I sympathize with Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, praying that other traditional rulers shall live long on the throne of their forefathers.
I also want to charge people in every towns and cities in the State to pray fervently for long and healthy lives for our royal fathers as their incessant deaths calls for sober reflections.
I pray unto God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest, forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds with Aljannatul Firdaous; also that Allah gives his family, sons and daughters of Ibadanland and generality of people of Oyo State fortitude to bear the great loss.
