It is not news that the two major political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State and across the nation have started preparations in earnest ahead of the 2023 general elections with various machineries set in motion.
The quest to rebuild and reposition the APC had started in earnest with the Membership Registration Exercises which recorded massive turnout.
The peaceful conduct of the Ward Congresses and the just concluded Local Government Congresses further affirms the seriousness of the APC and her quest to reclaim back Oyo State to the progressives fold,
In a contest of this magnitude, conflicts are inevitable as they will always be certain individuals who will certainly not be satisfied with the process. But the robust internal conflicts solving mechanisms put in place by the party to reconcile all supposed warring factions ensured all interests are protected and the various leaders leading such pacts brought together to the main stream.
The ruling PDP in the state thought it will be an exercise in futility but the success of the process have since then thrown the PDP in the state in a more confusing dilemna because we do not need a soothsayer to know that the PDP can never achieve such feat with the lingering insurmountable
crisis rocking the party over the last two years.
By Saturday 16th October , 2021,the APC will hold her state congresses in Oyo State and across the nation. As progressives and pace setters, the initial mechanisms put in place by the Oyo State APC should be remodified, where necessary, and speak in one united voice towards ensuring that competent hands, real party loyalists, lovers of good governance with integrity proven and persons with convincing track records are brought on board to pilot the affairs of the Party in the state.
Our leaders, are therefore implored, to once again come together on the round table, as usual, and fashion out the best ways that will further place the party on the path of victory in the forthcoming elections by giving us sellable candidates from the array of credible candidates that the party is endowed with.
Reclaiming Back Oyo State Is Non Negotiable and the only remedy to the attainment of such glory is repositioning and rebuilding the party, as expected of progressives and in accordance with the party constitution, and not forgetting to bring into cognisance the sweat of the founding fathers who toiled to give us this platform that rescued the nation from the shackles of destruction of the PDP.
