Oyo APC Tasks INEC on Hitch-free Voter Registration Exercise
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state has charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deploy every machinery in its disposal to guarantee the success of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in all parts of the country.
The electoral body (INEC) had announced Tuesday, August 26, 2025, 2025 as the date for the commencement of the registration of eligible Nigerians as fresh voters having earlier begun the online service for those seeking to get a replacement for their lost or damaged Permanent Voter Card (PVC) as well as those who are willing to transfer their voting power from one place to another within the country.

In a statement issued on Wednesday and made available to journalists in Ibadan by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, Oyo APC expressed regret over the loss of its candidate in the August 16 by-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency as it said that the circumstances surrounding the development would help the Party to reposition itself and prepare fully for for future elections.
“Now that the build up to the next general election is unfolding with the commencement of the continuous voter registration exercise, we want all our party faithful to remain focused as we appealed for calm among those who have been agitated by the activities of some politicians and private individuals who have created unauthorised registration centres with a view to playing to the gallery and misleading the public on an exercise which could only be carried INEC as recognised by law.
“We are using this medium to direct all stakeholders within our Party to assist passionate and diligent party members who are saddled with task of mobilising prospective voters, from within their communities and Wards, to register with INEC and obtain their PVC even as we assure that the state secretariat would be ready to listen to their complaints and take the necessary steps to address them urgently.
“More importantly, INEC has to be above board in discharging its duties particularly as this concerns the registration of fresh voters as well as production and distribution of PVCs. The commission has to sanitize its register by removing names of all dead persons and also ensure that no underage or ineligible person is allowed register as a Voter. The issue of non availability of registration officials and/or materials should not raise its ugly head this time while politicians and their agents should not be allowed to compromise the exercise.” Oyo APC added.
