Oyo APC Zoning Committee Is Too Scanty And Highly Selective, Sunday Dare
The Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has shown his displeasure over the newly constituted Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zoning Committee that was been ratified by the Alao Akala led Elders Advisory Council ahead of the state congress slated for 16th October, 2021.
The Elders Advisory Council led by the Former Governor of the state, Otunba Dr Christopher Adebayo Alao Akala recently approved a 9-Man committee who have been saddled with the responsibilities of putting up the necessary machineries for effective planning and success of the forthcoming congress.
But in reacting to the zoning committee, Sunday Dare said the activities of the Akala led committee does not foster the unity needed by the party for victorious outing in the 2023 gubernatorial election.
According to the Minister and as reported by OyoInsight,
“Critical stakeholders in Oyo APC were not informed or carried along in the selection of the members of this zoning committee. This is wrong. Consultations were scanty, selective, deeply biased and overbearing.
“At this stage, all critical stakeholders must be informed about any step being taken towards the state congress. It is the only way to foster peace.
He concluded by hammering on unity as the major factor needed by the APC to emerge victorious in the coming elections.
“The chances of Oyo APC in 2023 elections will depend heavily on unity and team spirit. We must have an all-inclusive team and shun personal interests at this point. The primary aim of every stakeholder in this party should be victory in 2023. We must not give room to divisive factors at this point, if we indeed want Oyo APC to emerge victorious at the polls,” he explained.
