Oyo APC Zoning Committee : My Accusers Are Lazy Politicians, Alao Akala Blasts Sunday Dare And Others

The former governor of Oyo State and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zoning Committee for the 16th October, 2021 state congress has refuted claims by the Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, and the Unity Forum, of been biased, scanty,selective and over bearing in consultation as critical stakeholders were neither informed nor carried along in the selection process of the committee members.

Otunba Alao Akala referred to his accusers as lazy politicians. He advised them to work if they wanted to take the party tickets because the party tickets will be won through internal democracy.

In his words, “the committee considered all the tendencies within the party in the composition of the zoning committee, which is saddled with the distribution of leadership position within the party.

“While Fatai Ibikunle and Hammed Ayinla are representing Unity Forum, Olalekan Alli and Isiaka Kolawole are from the Abiola Ajimobi group. Monisola Tegbe is of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP while Idris Adeoye is representing the Elders Advisory Council. Akeem Olatunji and Wale Adeleke are of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, while Musiliu Olaide Akinremi is a member of caretaker/extraordinary convention planning committee, CECPC, of APC.

I don’t have any preferred candidates for any position. If I have the opportunity of choosing who flies the party’s ticket for the governorship, I won’t choose from Ibadan and you know the reason. In fact, I have someone from my hometown of Ogbomoso. They should also stand up and work like him if they want to take the party’s ticket.

”The party’s ticket would be won through politics. Politics in the sense that you will work and sell yourself to the party members and the populace. It is simple. Everybody should get to work and not resort to blackmail. It is not done.

The former governor assured party faithfuls that the process will be all inclusive and progressive towards reclaiming back the state in 2023.

while wishing the party victorious outings in the coming elections, Alao Akala,enjoined all members to embrace peace and remain united for the actualisation of the mission ahead.
