Perseverance And Focus, Key To Attainment Of Set Goals.

Thank You Oyo State

Actualisation of set goals, aims and objectives in any given assignment is attainable with fervant prayers, selflessness, perseverance, tireless efforts, dedication, consistency, focus and well planned actions towards its realisation.

This form of dedication constitututes the oil that lubricates good representation, especially in Nigeria’s nascent democracy.

All over the world, however, politics and negative attributes like deliberate distractions, blackmail, defamation, libel and slander, political jabs and jaw jaw are like siemese twins instituting a bottleneck towards the realisation of the good intention of many development-oriented political leaders.

Many great politicians have lost out because of their inability to manage the effects of these distractions in a mature and conceptualised way while the few ones who triumph over these negativities are always reference points by upcoming leaders.

Distinguished Senator Dr (Prince) AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari, who keeps proving his critics wrong with his qualitative, outstanding and unprecedented ways of representation, will continue to be a reference point in the political history of Oyo North Senatorial District, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

The case of the Federal University Of Agriculture And Technology, Oke Ogun was termed a scam by many sponsored outfits and personalities when Distinguished Senator Dr (Prince) AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari proposed and presented the bill for its establishment in 2018 during his first term tenure in the 8th National Assembly.

The visionary, pragmatic, eloquent, development-oriented and focused legislator was slandered as wanting to use the bill proposal to woo the constituents to vote him for his second term into the Senate.

By this, it was believed, in some quarters, by those who knew less or nothing about legislation that the Federal Government can not establish two universities in a state, with the presence of University of Ibadan in the Oyo State capital.

The lawmaker did not allow all these negativities to affect his well planned actions of making the zone (Oyo North senatorial district, especially Oke-Ogun) feel the Federal Government’s presence. So, the bill which died in the 8th National Assembly was represented in the 9th Assembly by the lawmaker.

Against the widely held belief that there can’t be two federal universities in a state, the recent establishment of Federal University of Health, Nutrition and Medical Sciences in Ila Orangun, Osun State, making two federal universities in the state, have silenced the critics and thereby boosted the morale of the good people of Oyo North senatorial district.

This singular action by the Federal Government has further proven that Senator Dr (Prince) AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari has never and will never be a scammer but being a purposeful leader with proven integrity antecedents.

Popularly called BAF, Omoluabi, Senator Buhari’s soul aim in politics is to bring the dividends of good governance to all and sundry.

The much criticised bill has passed through first, second and third readings, committee, report and public hearing stages. All that is remaining is for the House of Representatives to concurrently pass the bill, after which it will be sent to the President for assent.

It is of the view that the establishment of the institution in the agrarian district of the state will, apart from boosting the general economy of the state and generation of employment, it will as well develop the zone and open up the area to national and international patronage.

The critics and doubting Thomases, having been proven wrong that two federal universities can be in a state by the President Mohammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government, it is high time all gladiators came on board to support this lofty idea and ensure it comes to fruition.
