Distinguished Senator Dr AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari, the lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District in the Hallowed Chamber, was the Theme Speaker at the Junior Chamber International (JCI) at Ibadan Convention at Asher Palace, Jericho in the Oyo State capital.
The Harvard Certified lawmaker, who has been the beautiful bride of many unions in the state due to his vast knowledge and analytical prowess, spoke on issues relating to Youth and nation building.
In his words,” Today, it was my honour and pleasure to attend the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ibadan convention at Asher Palace, Jericho Ibadan where I was the theme speaker. The convention was organized to look at issues relating to youth and nation building
“I spoke on the theme “Building the Future, Unleashing the Potentials of Young People” where I emphasized the important roles youths could play in National development, making it known that the youth are the future of any country and are pivotal to the nation’s future development and growth.
” I highlighted that one of the greatest challenges facing the Nigerian government and policy makers is how to harness the potentials of the youths so that they could have decent lives and positively contribute to the political, social and economic development of Nigeria, and that despite various government interventions, the challenge remains unabated.
“The various speakers at the convention took turn to dissect the theme and offered many great recommendations for youth participation in national development, they all concluded that the youths are the future of this country, and their capacities must be well harnessed if the country is to become a great and prosperous nation we all desire her to be.
The recently ranked Best Senator in Oyo State and the South West commended the JCI for looking into how the potentials of the Nigerian Youths can be harnesses for the development of the society.
According to the human capacity building advocate, ” I commend the Junior Chamber International for providing the platform, and like I gave my word to them, I will always be at the front at any forum where youth and their development is being discussed. The Oyo 2023 Oyo State Gubernatorial Hopeful has been an advocate for your development for decades. This, the lawmaker has been exhibiting by paying the WAEC Fees of six hundred (600) selected students and giving over two hundred federal jobs to his constituents.
Senator Buhari has unprecedentedly trained over six thousand (6000) youths in soap making, tie and dye, tiling, agriculture, cosmetology, information and communication technology (ICT), rolled out three (3) Super Mega Empowerment Programmes to mention but a few, to keep the teeming youths of his constituents self sufficient.
Recently, the workaholic legislator supported two hundred (200) students of Oyo North Senatorial District in various higher institutions of learning with a sum of Fifty Thousand Naira (#50,000:00), as education relief package.
