In his condolence message, the lawmkaer described the late monarch as a brave king who took the development of his domain as his utmost priority.
‘The death of Oba Elijah Olaniyi Popoola, Onijeru of Ijeru, Ogbomoso South Local Government is another loss to the traditional institution in Oyo state.
Oba Popoola was a developmental driven Oba who spent 14 peaceful years on the throne of his forefathers and died at the age of 85. As an Oba, he sacrificed his all to bring to preeminence the throne of Onijeru. His death is a personal loss to me because of the close affinity I had with him while alive.
Senator Buhari urged residents to look into the worrisome situation bedeviling the traditional institution in Oyo State.
” It is high time we pondered and seek the face of God amidst the wave of death that has been striking traditional rulers in Oyo state of late. This is getting too much for us in Oyo state.
