SENATOR BUHARI EMPOWERS ANOTHER 250 FARMERS  WITH 1000 BAGS OF FERTILIZERS TO IMPROVE FOOD PRODUCTION

…as he reiterates his hope to seeing Oyo North Senatorial District contribute greatly to the nation GDP

 

 

A total of 250 farmers selected from the 13 local government areas of Oyo North Senatorial District have been empowered by Senator Buhari Abdulfatai as he distributed 1000 bags of fertilizers to them all.

Each of the 250 beneficiaries who belonged to different farmers association and local government areas across Oyo North converged at the Senator Buhari’s residence, Ogbomoso today Wednesday, 5th March, 2025 to collect four bags of fertilizer in the early hours of today.

The project facilitated by the outstanding lawmaker was sponsored by Federal Cooperative College, Oji River and executed by Royalroche Hathaway Company Limited with aim of supporting farmers in the district to improve on their Agriculture produce as raining season commences very soon.

 

Prominent among the farmers associations that benefited from the empowerment were: All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) in Oyo North, Oke Ogun Oluwaseun Farmers Association, All Females Farmers Income Generating Association and Oke Ogun Youths Association of Farmers.

 

Also members of Agbeloba Groups of Farmers Associations, Aanu Oluwapo Farmers Association, Ogo Oluwa Kiitan Farmers Association, Organic Livestock and Crops Owners Association of Nigeria and Ola Oluwa Farmers Association among other associations benefited from the gestures.

 

Aside from the members of Farmers Associations, a farmer was selected from the 134 wards in the Senatorial district to make a total of 134 people from wards level while the remaining 116 slots were shared among the groups to make the sum of 250 beneficiaries with each went home with four bags of fertilizer.

 

While distributing the fertilizers to the beneficiaries, Senator Buhari who was represented at the event by The Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo North Senatorial District, Mr Tunde Oloyede charged the beneficiaries to make best use of the items to increase their productivity.

 

Senator Buhari expressed hope of seeing Oyo North as a Senatorial District with utmost contributions to the Gross Domestic Products of Nigeria and so boost the economy of the great Nigeria of his dream.

 

It shall be recalled that the lawmaker in the last five weeks had empowered 550 people from various categories of his constituents on different entrepreneurship training with a start up package of 100 thousand naira and their certificates of participation so that they can all become employers of labour.
