Today, I learnt the difference between Being Human and Human Being.
Above 90% of Nigeria Politicians are Human Beings who cannot be predicted. But I saw a politician who is Being Human, with benevolent heart, devoid of political sentiments, Party affiliation and religious bigotry. His name is Senator Buhari Fatai, the Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District.
When he was approached to support the indigents students in Okeogun, not only at LAUTECH, but across all Tertiary Institutions in Oyo North, He softly said, We will do it. He gave mandate to make selections across the thirteen (13) Local Governments in Oyo North, and selection was done by a Committee set up for the purpose.
Senator Fatai Buhari is a human being who is human because not all human beings are human.
Today, he lived up to his promise as he put smiles on the faces of selected Indigent (Glorious) Students of Oyo North Senatorial District, to the tune of #2.5 Million. The disbursement travelled far and near.
As if that wasn’t enough, he requested for head count of other students, and promised to release fund to appreciate them for their presence at the occasion. He equally promised to make the event annually to support the students.
This is not about Regional Sell out, But coming to the aid of the needy amongst us. Therefore, Honor is due to whom it fits.
Only if all politicians will not be chasing shadows but invest in meaningful projects of building future leaders among other commitments to the people they represents, Life would have been more better for the poor.
