Senator Buhari Mourns Grand Mufty of Oyo State, Sheikh Okunmeebo – describes the Islamic scholar as a true father
Senator Buhari Abdulfatai representing Oyo North Senatorial District has mourned the death of the Grand Mufty of Oyo State and Chief Mufasir of Ogbomosoland, Fadilat Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Olayiwola Busari Okunmeebo who died in the early hours of today, premiumnewsnig.com exclusively reports.
In his condolences to family and muslim community in Ogbomosoland and Oyo State at large, Senator Buhari who identified the late Islamic scholar as his father with whom he shared mutual father-to-son relationship expressed that he is going to miss Fadilat Shiekh Okunmeebo.
According to the lawmaker, the late Islamic scholar, Sheikh Okunmeebo spent his entire life as a faithful Muslim who often guided fellow believers to the right path and clamour for them to refrain from the bad deeds.
“I and every other Muslim in Ogbomosoland and Oyo State in general are going to miss Sheikh Okunmeebo for his unforgettable relationship as a religious leader and guidance,” Senator Buhari hinted.
Buhari, who recently won the Oyo North Senatorial Primary election with 570 votes to flag the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 3rd term further said “the death of Mufasir Busari Okunmeebo has created a scar not only to my heart but to the hearts of the entire people of Ogbomosoland and Oyo State who at one time or the other had a close relationship with him”.
Senator Buhari while mourning, pointed out that the Grand Mufty of Oyo State, Sheikh Busari Okunmeebo left a legacy expected from a true servant of God as a Muslim and his impacts in his own life will remain unforgettable.
“I pray onto God to accept his returns, forgive all his sins and reward all his goods with Aljannat Firdaous on the day of accountability,” Senator Buhari declared
