SENSITIVITY: Hon Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala Moves A Motion For Better Service In The Production Of National Identity Number, NIN

Sensitivity is one of the major ingredients to making a qualitative, responsible and responsive representative of the people as any leader who does not feel and address the yearnings of his people is not worth entrusting with the votes of the people.

In other to ameliorate the suffering of the good people of Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency that he represents in the Nigerian House Of Representatives, a national issue that needs urgent intervention , Hon Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala, yesterday Wednesday 21st February, 2024, moved the motion For Better Service In The Production Of National Identity Number (NIN).

It is neither hidden facts or exaggeration that most Nigerians,unlike their counterparts in other countries, go through hell before generating their National Identity Number NIN at designated centres.

Some Nigerians spend days before they can get their NIN from most government approved centres because of so many avoidable hitches. This has caused many people to lose life changing opportunities because they could not meet up with certain stipulated time.

According to El Em Jay OjuOloore, as the lawmaker is fondly called by his ever growing supporters on his motion for better service in the production of NIN ;

” Yesterday, I moved a motion on a call for “Better Service in the Production of National Identity Number, NIN”

The NIN is a unique number that identifies the recipient as a Nigerian, and it is issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) after enrolment.

It is common knowledge that Nigerians go through arduous times in getting their NIN, which challenges can be managed through effective and efficient systems.

During my presentation, I urged the Honorable House to mandate the NIMC to collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Health, partner agencies, hospitals, and all other relevant players to register and generate the NIN for all citizens and legal residents in Nigeria upon birth, which will be a significant step towards improving identity management in Nigeria.

As the foundational ecosystem for identifying Nigerians, it is imperative that we adopt a reliable and secure database system for effective identification and documentation of our citizens. ”

The further lawmaker urged Nigerians to visit his website at www.olamijuwonlo.com for more information on the motion.

The most disgusting excuse frequently paddled by those in charge is lack of fuel to power their generating sets. Some do claim they have no generating sets while others do say their generating sets are faulty.

In most cases like this, the people will need to contribute certain amount on money to overcome this embarrassing hassle.

The recently concluded registering for the 2024 Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board Examination by students is a case study.

The Federal Government, as a matter of urgency, should thoroughly investigate the use of our hard earned but very scare monetary allocations to government parastatals to ensure that the monies are judiciously used for the good of the Nigerian people.

The question begging for answers is why do most Nigerians wait until the last minutes before doing the needful ?

Hon Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala, the current Chairman, Forum Of Youth Parliamentarians in the 10th Assembly, is worth commending for his exemplary leadership of being responsible, sensitive and responsive to the plights of his constituents he pledged to represent in all honesty, equity, fairness and justice.
