Seyi Makinde Visits Soun Palace A Month After The Demise Of Soun.
Governor Seyi Makinde, in company of some People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftains today visited the Palace of the Soun Of Ogbomosoland,a month after the demise of the monarch, premiumnewsnig.com reports.
It has been widely speculated that the governor has not visited the families of the late monarch and good people of Ogbomoso over the loss because he was instructed by his “priest” not to pay condolences.
Again that the governor has not visited because the late monarch rejected the ninety million (90m) gift the governor gave to the palace for renovation during the endsars saga.
But according to him, he was asked to wait for the right time to make such visit.
” When Baba Saka Balogun and I spoke, I gave him my word that I would attend the 8th-day Fidau prayer since I was not around on the day Baba died. But later, Baba Balogun called me back and said the 8th-day prayer event may not be appropriate for the nature of burial Baba deserves, and that we should take a bit more time and make preparation for the 40th day prayer and outing. One thing led to the other, I had to travel and I am here today.
“So, those critics are still free to keep running their mouths. Part of the reason I came is that Baba deserves State Burial and, for me as the Governor of Oyo State, that is exactly what I will give to Baba. So, I am here to discuss with the family personally and whatever we agree on is what I will carry out, the governor said.
Reacting to the governor’s visit, Akintola Adeyemo, who spoke with our reporter at the palace said, ” what befitting burial does GSM want to give after Baba has lost his first child, Professor (Princess) Taibat Danmole ?
Several weeks after Soun’s burial, he’s now in Ogbomoso. To me this is too bad of our governor.
He lives in Ibadan with Olubadan. We all know the impact of the monarch to his victory. He has not visited the Olubadan family. He is yet to visit Igangan on the demise of their monarch too but was busy playing golf in Saki. Haba, this is the first time we are experiencing this from a governor in this state. I just plead that he changes these ways of his doings.
According to Olukunle Stephen, ” that’s why the governor has a deputy and other executive members. These members have done the needful on behalf of the governor so I don’t think there should be any hassle in this regards.
Recall that the late His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi JP CON CFR, Ajagungbade III, The Soun Of OgbomosoLand, died on the 12th of December, 2021 at the age of ninety five (95).
