Any biased attack on the Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Dr. Buhari Abdulfatai has always been a source of fulfilment, elevation and blessing to the lawmaker.
This was contained in a press release issued by the media aide to the Legislator, Alhaji Semiu Azeez in his reaction to an allegedly political report sponsored by a group identified as Omo Yoruba Vanguard, published by Naija24hrs.com and circulated on social media platforms by these unscrupulous persons.
According to Alhaji Azeez, the group no doubt is a political-support group that has never seen anything good in the outstanding representation of Oyo North by Senator Buhari.
“So, it will not be out of place to declare Omo Yoruba Vanguard as opposition to the quality leadership being given to people of Oyo North that has resulted in the successes recorded by Dr. Buhari as a third term Senator,” he said.
While justifying the reason for Senator Buhari to have spoken Hausa at the commissioning of Iseyin Central Mosque, Oja Oba, Iseyin, Alhaji Azeez disclosed that the lawmaker was given the mandate to welcome The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Sa’ad Abubakar to his Senatorial District and appreciate him for the usual gestures extended not only to the good people of Iseyin, but those in Ibadan, Saki and other parts of Oyo State.
“That Senator Buhari addressed the Sultan of Sokoto in a language the monarch appreciated most should not be seen as a way of downplaying Yoruba language but rather be considered as a way through which The Sultan himself will see us as a people to help to get to the promised land in terms of luring developmental projects to our region,” Alhaji Azeez said.
It shall be recalled that everybody who spoke at the event used either Yoruba or English language but because the event was not political, it was designed that a prominent personality of status of Senator Buhari should appreciate Sultan Sa’ad.
“That’s exactly what happened, the Sultan cherished the act so much that Senator Buhari was the only person he shook his hands with as a mark of appreciation to his presentation. This was exactly what the organisers had in mind,” Alhaji Azeez reiterated.
He stressed “those who were intelligent, wise and understand how government in Nigeria works must have grabbed the intention of Senator Buhari that made him to have spoken using Hausa Language”.
Alhaji Azeez admonished people of Oyo North never to allow the antics of opposition who are not interested in the development of the district via distinguished representation in the senate but working days and nights to instigate them against the focused and very useful Senator.
