The remains of the departed former player and coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) late Philip Boamah will be buried in Ibadan.

 

The eldest son of the deceased, Kevin Olugbenga revealed this on Friday while receiving the 3SC contingent who paid a condolence visit to the home of his late father on Friday.

 

Kevin revealed that all the family members of the late footballer both in Nigeria and Ghana have all agreed that the deceased should be buried in Ibadan.

 

“While welcoming the 3SC contingent, he thanked the Shooting Stars’ management for coming to condole with the family over their father’s demise, saying that playing for Shooting Stars brought his father and the name Boamah to the limelight.

 

” Without Shooting Stars, my father and the name Boamah would not have been known. That is why we want to appreciate the Shooting Stars for the honour and for also coming here to pay us this visit”.

Speaking during the condolence visit of 3SC players and Management, the team’s General Manager, Dimeji Lawal, said the Ghanaian-born late footballer would be given a befitting burial.

 

“Our legend (Philip Boamah) who just passed on, left an indelible mark both as a player and coach of this great club, and therefore deserves a befitting send off for his efforts.

 

“As a club, which he served wholeheartedly, we will be ready to work together with the family to give him a very befitting burial ceremony.

 

The 3SC GM urged the wife, the children and the entire family to take heart and take solace in the fact that he was an accomplished man.

 

The General Manager, Dimeji Lawal was accompanied on the condolence visit by Technical Adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, coaches Lawal Abimbola, Kola Ige, Abayomi Adigun, other backroom staff as well as some players led by the skipper Malomo Taofeek.

 

Late Phillip Boamah who hailed from Ghana died in the early hours of Thursday at the University College Hospital Ibadan at the age of 74.
